1.  Answer the public

This is absolutely one of my favorite tools to use while on the phase of keyword research.

Here is a breakdown of the search query “new homes for sale Austin, Texas”

It presents you with a breakdown of what people are searching for. Now you can build a list of questions people are looking for in other to create better content to engage and convert them into paying customers.

But that’s not all…

Don’t do what others do by running off to go and create content just because they have a list of keywords they believe people are looking for.

That’s not the smart way to go about it.

Just like in marketing, we never believe that what we think will work best until we test it out.

That’s the same ideology you should have here and that’s where our second tool comes in…

2. Keyword Everywhere

Once you have generated your list of keywords people are searching for.

Head over to keywordseverywhere.com and download and install the Google chrome extension of keywords everywhere, it cost around $10 for 100,000 credit (where 1 credit = 1 keyword).

Copy and paste those keywords in Google search results one after the other and check out how many searches each keyword generates per month, how much are advertisers in your niche willing to pay for it – that’s the Cost per Click (CPC) and the AdWords competition.

By doing this you can now see the volume of searches each keyword generates each month and decide whether it worths your time writing content for that keyword and optimizing your page to rank on the first page for such keyword.

Please note that most time you might not see the volume of the searches on keywords everywhere. If so, then all you need to do in order to find the monthly search volume and CPC is to go to your Google keyword planner and search for the keyword.

Make Your Website Mobile Responsive

It’s no longer news that Google rewards websites that are mobile responsive than those that are not.

Here is what Google has to say about making your website mobile responsive.

This shows you how important it is to have a mobile responsive website and the effect it has on your search rankings.

Regardless of that fact, if your website is not mobile responsive you will be having a higher bounce rate as most of your website visitors will be clicking off your website because they can’t access your content easily.

This is really a bad sign and will eventually trigger Google to derank your page causing you to lose most if not all your website traffic.

Write High Quality and Long-form content.

Yes, Google wants your website to provide more value to the user and also to satisfy any of the question a user has prior to landing on your page.

Well, there are so many factors they consider but one core factor is that “the longer your content is, the better you can provide better value to a searcher”

Always try to make sure that your content meets the 1500 word count or more.

The more the better.

Bold Key Elements or Text 

Bolding your key elements or text helps to drive your reader’s attention to those bolded texts and also helps search engines to determine some other important information on a page.

Write for Humans and not for Google Bots Alone

Larry Kim the founder of Wordstream explains it better on this post, Where he explains that Google will be shifting traffic from pages with average or below engagements to pages that have 5-10x higher engagement metrics than normal.

Title Tag Optimisation

The Title tag is what shows up on a browser when a web searcher makes a new search.

They help Google to determine what a page is all about so as to deliver the best search results to a user.

Also, note that you need to have only one H1 on a page to help Google bots determine what the page is all about.

To optimize your page correctly, make sure you have your keyword in it.

Meta Description Optimisation

A meta description is what shows below the Title tag and it tells Google a bit more information about your page and also gives people a little bit of information on what they are to expect when they click through to read your content.

Write your meta description in such a way that it will persuade people to click on your content.

To edit your Title Tag and Meta Description on your website, you can use a simple plugin called Yoast SEO plugin.

Image Name and Alt Tag Optimisation

Before uploading your image try as much as possible to include your keyword on your images to increase its chances of getting discovered on the image search section of your browser.

The Alt tag is another great one as it helps search engines understand what your image is all about, which also helps to improve rankings.

Internal Linking

Linking to your internal pages is another great way to get the search engines to learn more about your website and have a general knowledge of what you do.

It also helps your website visitors navigate through your website easily, find answers to the question they have, spend more time on your website and create a better user experience for the web visitor

Off-page SEO for Real Estate Investors

Off-page optimization is all about what happens outside your website.  They are some variables to it but it depends on how other websites see your website, what they say about it and what they’re willing to do for it (in terms of recommendation)

Inasmuch as this happens outside your website which you have no total control on, you can as well effect how things will work out for your favor to increase your website ranking.

Link building is one of the most important aspects of off-page SEO for real estate investors websites but before I go ahead and talk to you about the types of links to go for, I want to bring this to your notice.

Have you heard of this quote…

“Some is good, more is better and too much is just right.”

I bet you have…

But look, this is not the case with search engines and how they work.

They’re things that Google considers while ranking a website based on the number of links they have.

And that is where are they getting their links from and which websites are linking to them.

Here are a few things that Google considers from the websites linking to your website to decide whether to rank you or not.

  1. Are you getting those links from Industry Authority websites? As a real estate investor that could be websites like realtor.com, zillow.com, or other smaller ones that centered on real estate.
  2. Are you getting those links from related websites or websites that have something to do with your industry? For example, as a real estate investor, getting a link from a website that specializes in skincare news sites looks fishy in Google’s eyes as it doesn’t relate to what you do. Whereas getting  a link from a real estate news site will be considered a high quality link.

Anchor Text used while linking to your real estate investment website is very important because you don’t want a situation where every website is linking to you using the same anchor text which might look shady or spammy in Google Bots eyes which will end up getting your website deranked instead of moving up.

Social Sharing

Just like Link building, getting an authority figure or celebrity in your niche to share your content has a more positive effect on your ranking than when ordinary people share the same content.

Google has a way it recognizes social shares from influencers in your niche and they tend to prioritize their shares on your content than when other people share it.

So try as much as possible to get influencers in your niche to read and share your posts to their audience.

There are some ways you can use to get the attention of an authority figure in your niches and one of the ways is by organizing an interview with them.

Use data-tracking tools

Why doing SEO you always need to keep track of what you’re doing.

You need to know what is working and what isn’t so that you can implement what is working for you and remove those that are not working.

There are lots of SEO tracking tools in the market, but the one Google presents is actually a good start for that.

The two tools are Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

You can use Google Analytics to keep track of how your website pages are performing, how much traffic it gets, where your traffic is coming from and so many other things.

Whereas you can use the Google search console to make sure your pages are well-indexed and get notified of any error that arises.

These two tools are great tools to use to keep track of how your SEO for your website is performing and to make sure you don’t have errors that you are supposed to fix lingering longer than it supposes to.
